Medicare Information for In-Home Dementia Care
Background of this new Medicare Program
The GUIDE program is a new initiative designed by a specialized team within Medicare. This program reflects the United States government’s dedication to creating better, more comprehensive models of care for the growing population of people with dementia and their caregivers. Built on evidence-based practices from long-established comprehensive dementia care programs, GUIDE aims to enhance support and care delivery. Participation is entirely voluntary, and the program involves annual comprehensive assessments of both clients and caregivers. Dedicated Care Navigators maintain frequent, regular contact, ensuring that the care provided continually adapts to the evolving needs of participants, based on the best available scientific and clinical evidence.
